Great art affects us physically, so we actually feel something. Not so say there isn't an intellectual or spiritual component, just it's just not the main thing.
In order to make meaningful work I have to really believe in what I do. Any project I put my mind and my time into, is something that I am willing to put my butt on the line for. By the way? Ouch.
